More and more Tesla owners means more and more cars at the Superchargers. The San Mateo Supercharger, a frequent stop of mine as I drive to the San Jose, is a popular spot with locals and commuters. I have never seen a full bay of Tesla’s except at peninsula locations such as Mountain View and San Mateo, a sign of Tesla’s success in Silicon Valley.
The good news is that the wait for a spot didn’t take too long. Aprox 5 min after arriving I got a spot and started charging. Tesla has spots that are limited to 30 min and an attendant monitoring it all. Owners seem to do a good job of self policing and spots continued to free up even after I got mine.
For Tesla this is going to be an increasing trend. Hopefully their investment in Supercharger infrastructure continues at its current pace and includes upgrades to existing locations.
